GETTING TO KNOW YOUR PTO

Here are some questions and answers that hopefully give you a better sense of what the Anchor Pointe PTO does throughout the year to support our students, faculty, and community.

WHO MAKES UP THE PTO?

We all can!  All parents are encouraged to sign up to join the PTO.  In addition to parents, 2-3 teacher liaisons are assigned to the PTO each year.

WHAT IS THE PTO BOARD AND WHAT DO THEY DO?

The PTO Board consists of six board members. Those listed below volunteered and were voted in to provide leadership this year as your Anchor Pointe PTO Board. Get to know their names and faces, and feel free to ask them if you have questions.  Contact us at: anchorpointepto@gmail.com.

President: Maggie Yakel

Vice President: Mikala Nightengale

Treasurer: Stacy Zaayer

Secretary: Lindsay Hollman

Hospitality: Sarah Pretz

Outreach: Bailey Jorgensen

Teacher Liaisons: Mrs. Barney, Mrs. Emary, Mrs. Knott, and Mrs. Pruneau

Would you like to really get involved with the PTO? Why not serve on the Board? Board members serve a one or two year term, and are crucial to the operations of the PTO. It's a great way to meet people, be a part of positive change at our school, and have fun!

Board Positions for the 2024-2025 school year are filled.

WHO CAN ATTEND A PTO MEETING?

All members are encouraged to attend.  By attending PTO meetings, you have an opportunity to make a difference in your child's academic life, become better informed about Anchor Pointe Elementary, and make greater connections with the teachers and parents in our community.

PTO Meetings are the best place to gain better knowledge about: policy updates, new initiatives, events, budget, and other changes. If you have questions about your student's educational experience, this is the best way to find answers.

Meetings occur on the second Tuesday of every month and they begin at 6:30PM.  The meetings take place in the Anchor Pointe Elementary Library.

The PTO Board also meets regularly to address any administrative issues.

WHAT DO YOU DISCUSS AT THE GENERAL MEETINGS?

The PTO Board provides a report to address updates that have happened since the last meeting, along with sharing information about topics relevant to the school and PTO.  The Treasurer will provide a financial report to review the income and expenses since the last meeting.  Mr. Boyes provides an update as well.  PTO members are able to bring new ideas and topics to the meeting to discuss amongst the group.
